- What is the Chamber Change Program?
The Chamber Change Program is designed to help keep shopping dollars in the community. Locally spent money stays in your community through supporting local employment, local business to business transactions and through charitable giving. When you spend local you are investing in your community.
- How does it work?
Chamber Change dollars may be purchased through the Fairview & District Chamber office. Denominations of $5, $10, $20, and $50 are available to purchase, dollar for dollar and do not expire. Chamber Change dollars can then be redeemed for items and services at any participating Fairview & District Chamber business. Anyone can purchase Chamber Change and are encouraged to call the Chamber office ahead of time at (780)-835-5999 to order required amount to ensure it is ready when you need it.
When a business receives Chamber Change dollars, they treat it like cash and provide customers with change from their purchase if needed. The business then returns the Chamber Change dollars to the Fairview & District Chamber in person or via mail. The Chamber then processes the Chamber Change dollars and issues a cheque reimbursing the business for the full amount collected. Please note, processing and preparing a cheque may take a few days.
Participating businesses will have a sticker on their door indicating that they accept Chamber Change. Participants are also featured on the Chamber website and a list is given out with every Chamber Change purchase. Businesses accepting Chamber Change are encouraged to train their staff about the program to ensure a seamless experience for their customers.
