Governance is the way society and the groups within it come together to make decisions.
The Fairview & District Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit organization, incorporated in 1977, and are governed first and foremost by the Boards of Trade Act set out by the Government of Canada and secondly by our Operational Bylaws approved through the Alberta Corporate Registry. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Chamber elected to represent its member’s best interests as a whole.
Our Chamber currently employs two employees that are responsible for the Chamber’s daily operations and most importantly, implementing and carrying out the actions and directives set out by the board of directors. They rely heavily on the communication, support, and direction of the board to do their jobs effectively.
