About Us:
The Fairview & District Chamber of Commerce has been supporting business and strengthening our community since 1977. We are a non-profit organization created by members for its members. The Chamber staff work in union with a volunteer Board of Directors to be the collective voice of business in our community.
The policies and programs of the Chamber are determined by the Board of Directors elected by the membership. Each elected Director will serve a one-year term commencing April 18, 2024.
Board Role: (for full details re: Board Roles & Expectations included in Nomination Package):
Together with other members of the Board, acting as a whole and speaking with one voice, the Board of Directors are responsible for the stewardship of the Fairview & District Chamber and the oversight of the management of the organization. This Board is accountable to the membership and to those who provide funds for the operation of the organization. They are also responsible for determining the vision, mission and strategic direction of the Chamber and for monitoring organizational performance.
Minimum Role Requirements:
As a volunteer member of the Board of Directors, you would attend regular monthly meetings (generally the third Thursday of each month @ 6:00 PM), sit on at least one committee or task force as needed, and be an active participant in Chamber events. Each elected Director (9 in total) will serve a one-year term.
Every board member must demonstrate the following qualities: an interest in the Chamber’s goals; a willingness to expand knowledge of board responsibilities through orientation and ongoing education, and a willingness to represent the Chamber in the community.
Nominee Eligibility:
To be eligible for nomination to the Fairview & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors the nominee must be a member, the representative for the membership, and in good standing with the Fairview & District Chamber of Commerce.

To be eligible to nominate a member for the Fairview & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors the nominator must be a member, the representative of the membership, and in good standing with the Fairview & District Chamber of Commerce.
For a Nomination Form to be considered valid, we require:
- Nominee information & signature
- Nominator Information & signature
- Board Position being Nominated for: Director (5), Executive (4) > Chair, Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, Secretary/Treasurer
- Submitted to the Chamber Office no later than Thursday, March 13th, 2024 @ 5 PM
Election Process:
The Board of Directors will be voted in by the membership at our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
